Na pavilhão municipal da localidade a equipa lusa impôs-se à sua congénere da Polónia. Um duelo difícil que terminou com a vitória de Portugal por 24:22.
Foi um combate equilibrado mas Portugal conseguiu assumir a liderança no marcador. Ao intervalo os polacos perdiam por duas bolas. No segundo tempo a luta foi ainda mais renhida, com vantagem, em termos de posse de bola, para os portugueses, o que, desta vez, acabou por ajudá-los a vencer.
